According to Hubspot's State of the Twittersphere report (PDF), 70 percent of all Twitter users joined during 2008 and approximately 5,000 to 10,000 new accounts are opened each day. The site also shows traffic growth of over 600% in the past 12 months.According to Hubspot the report is based on real data pulled from hundreds of thousands of Twitter profiles accessed through the reports generated by Twitter Grader. The report is inspired by Technorati’s State of the Blogosphere, which tries to quantify trends across all the blogs it tracks.
