To kick things off and get a little buzz going Amazon will be offering three free, full-version games – “Jewel Quest 2,” “The Scruffs” and “Build A Lot.” Every other game on their list can be played for free for 30 minutes as a timed trial before the need to purchase, so you can try them out before shelling out any actual cash. So far there is no word on whether or not Amazon will be offering downloads from major publishers of top genre games but knowing Amazon I'm sure we'll see them moving to more mainstream games shortly.

Amazon Launches New Game Download Service
Yesterday Amazon announced the launch of a new video game download service, the Amazon Game Downloads store. The new store currently features more than 600 games all priced under $9.99 with the online retailer promising to add more titles over time. The stores features "casual games", if you aren't sure what those are don't worry I wasn't either, think Pogo.com, RealArcade or even your favorite cell phone games.
