The new chips include the Phenom II X4 910 which is a slightly slower version of the 920 running at 2.6GHz with 2MBs of L2 cache, 6MBs of L3 cache. We also see the introduction of the 8xx series with Phenom II X4 810 and 805. Both chips feature 2MBs of L2 cahce, 4MBs of L3 cache and a TDP of 95w. The Phenom II X4 810 runs at 2.6 ghz while the 805 comes in at 2.5 ghz.
The other two chips introduced were the new 7xx series and include the Phenom II X3 720 and Phenom II X3 710. These are both triple-core chips which are physically the same die as the Phenom II X4 900 series, but with only 3 cores enabled and 1.5MBs of L2 cache versus 2MBs in the 9xx series.
Pricing for the Phenom II X3 720 Black Edition and the Phenom II X3 710 is $145 and $125 each, respectively. The Phenom II X4 810 will also be sold for $175 each. Both the Phenom II X4 910 and the X4 805 will be sold as OEM part to channel partners; AMD did not release pricing for either.
Users can ensure their motherboards are compatible with the new processors by checking our AM3 compatible motherboard list or a list of compatible AM2+ motherboards on AMD's Web site. We'll have a full list of upcoming AM3 boards posted shorty!
AMD is expected to follow today's launch with more launches in April and June.
