Windows 7 RC1 Might Be Ready By May

According to reports by ComputerWorld Microsoft is prepping for a May release of Windows 7 RC1. The report cites information posted on the Windows 7 Release Candidate (RC) download page on Microsoft's TechNet site, which at this time no longer appears to be there.

According to ComputerWorld the site originally showed a date of "May 2009," and spelled out several details about the upcoming public preview.

"You don't need to rush to get Windows 7 RC," the download page reads. "The RC release will be available at least through June 2009 and we're not limiting the number of product keys, so you have plenty of time."

ComputerWorld is not alone in reporting the possible release date. Neowin.net was lucky enough to grab a screenshot of the site before it was reverted back to where it is now. Neowin believed the RC will actually be ready in April for testers and should be available publicly in May if the screenshot is correct.
