Earlier this week Microsoft confirmed the Oct 22nd release date for the new Windows 7 operating system. At that time the company also confirmed rumors that as with previous Windows launches, they will be partnering with PC manufacturers like Dell to offer the Windows 7 Upgrade Option program.
Today through the Direct2Dell blog Dell has confirmed they will be offering the Windows 7 upgrade option on select systems sold through retail stores or directly from Dell. The company didn't provide exact details for the new program only stating that once the Windows 7 Upgrade Option program is officially announced they will provide more details as to when the program will launch, which PCs will be included in the offer and which countries will be involved.
It’s important to note that Dell has said the Windows 7 upgrade kits will not be shipped until AFTER Windows 7 has officially launched on Oct. 22.
