Intel has dropped the price on three of it's mainstream CPU's this week.
The 2.93 GHz Pentium E6500 was cut by 12 percent, from $84 to $74, while the 2.7 GHz E5400 has dropped 14 percent from $74 to $64. The 2.5 GHz Celeron E3300 saw the biggest cut of 19 percent down to $43 from $53. (full price sheet)
While the slashes only affect three chips, and none of the higher end line-ups. The news is still good for those looking to update their older systems to the newer architecture or those looking to build new low cost systems.
