Dell Teasing New Ultra Thin Sandy Bridge Laptop

Thin is in, at least Dell hopes so. The company has been teasing a new ultra-thin laptop to replace the failed Adamo line which was dumped earlier this year.

Details are pretty scares with Dell only giving us a product name, Dell XPS 15z, and that they will be built around the the latest Intel "Sandy Bridge" Core i5 and Core i7 processors.

The video shows off a front facing camera, two USB 3.0 ports, as well as what looks like a slot-load optical drive. Reports indicate the laptop will feature a 15.6-inch screen size yet there is no word on which gpu we can expect to see powering the graphics. Pricing is reported to be in the $1000 neighborhood.

More photos have been posted on Dell's global Facebook page and CEO Micheal Dell has been tweeting details here and there.

It will be interesting to see how well Dell does with this new "thin" line. The Adamo line garnered a ton of  attention as a contender against the MacBook Air but interest quickly dissipated.
