Just yesterday AMD announced the release of the new X3 8x50 series, but how do these CPU's stand against whats out there already? Listed below are some of the reviews of the flagship of the X3 series the AMD Phenom X3 8750.

Conclusion
Having read all the reviews I'm still stuck with the question, why triple core and not quad? I understand in general its a cost saving move, however at a price point of $195 you could buy a better performing Phenom X4 9750, or get the far superior Intel Q6600. I've been a long time fan of AMD and do feel they have made a push in the right direction with some of their latest line however adding a triple core line just for the sake of "niche marketing" falls short of my expectations of them. Hopefully in the next year or so they can right the ship and get back into the war with Intel.
